People ask me often, “How do I get more followers on my social media channels?” It’s a great question, but alas, there is no simple one-size-fits-all answer or “magic app” that will get you the hundreds (okay, thousands) of followers you’re looking for in one fell swoop. I’m a firm believer in attracting audiences organically, so I want to share a few different ways that you can encourage more people to follow you on your Facebook Page and on Instagram.

1. On Facebook, invite your friends to “follow” your page. Log onto your Facebook Page and select “...”, then select “invite friends'' to choose people to invite from your personal Facebook friends list. I suggest you do this every few months as you gain more Facebook friends.

2. On your Facebook page, when you have a post that does well, click on the reactions (hearts and thumbs ups) and “invite” those who reacted to the post to like your Facebook Page. This will send them a personalized invite and you will see who “accepts” the invite.

3. Add your social media links to your email signature. You can add the links to words within your signature, or add social media channel icons and link the icons to your social media feeds if you wanna get fancy!

4. Shout-out your Instagram account on Facebook (and vice versa). This can be done by using a graphic with your handle(s) listed, but be sure to include your full link in the content post that goes along with your graphic (i.e., Follow me on Facebook now: https://www.facebook.com/fromthenestsocial).

5. Create a QR code to make it easy for people to find your profiles. Using a free QR code generator (I like THIS SITE), create a link to your Facebook Page or Instagram feed. You can place this QR code on your printed items (menus, packaging, signage, or other marketing materials) or on your website or blog. People will be able to scan the QR code with their phone (using the camera) and automatically get to your profile. Boom!!
